Owning a gym is an interesting because it benefits me in so many ways beyond the monetary. To coach and to teach is to observe human behavior and their reaction to instruction, attitude, tone, and body language. Owning a gym is more of a sociological experiment than one may think. In my observations I have found flaws in the dimensions of human behavior. The primary differential between us and low order beings is choice. We can choose how to act and react; we can define our state of thinking and gravitate towards benefit.
I hear many people talking about what they need to do or how life pulls them in several directions. Here is a liberating fact: life will only insist upon you what you allow it to. Under great stress one might matriculate to poor choices because they fool themselves into believing that their road is carved out for them. So what do we do? We get in the car and drive the monotony everyday and hope that change will find us. This is an exercise in futility.
Further, there are many “bothers” that may exist in everyday life; unfortunately, these stress related elements can only be remedied by making small changes to the road.
Start taking responsibility for your role in your own improvement. You are the one in control of your emotional response and the sole person who can construct your situation.
