Discomfort

Growth begins at a point of discomfort or stress. Just the right amount of pain and consistent exposure to discomfort and (bam!) results happen. This philosophy applies to strength & conditioning as well as life.
For many of us, we have learned to seek control and comfort withing our daily lives because these things equate to success. We like the feeling of certainty; however, there is no such thing as a constant in life.  The only constant you can apply to your life is that everything around you is perpetually changing, so logic tells us that we must evolve with the daily variables.
Allowing your mind to go to uncomfortable places, whether it be in fitness, work, or personal life are some keys to finding growth and success withing these areas. There is no doubt about it. Forcing yourself to do one more rep, learning how to deal with a personality that doesn’t quite fit yours, or finding compromise where it is difficult to comprehend are all relevant to the discomfort of personal growth.
In a world of infinite possibilities, do not allow yourself to lose the vitality of challenges.  Strength can only be found in pushing and challenging your body and mind.
I would encourage you to chase the feeling of discomfort. Use it as your north star that guides you to new places you did not know existed.  Remember, everyday is a test and you must endure.
